How to book & prepare for your shoot

Q: HOW DO I BOOK?

A: If you find that I am a great fit as your photographer, you may either fill out a contact form to email me, or personally give me a ring and we’ll set up a consultation. Once we decide on a date, I’ll send you a client portrait contract which also includes a model release to sign and your $175 retainer fee is due. If you do not feel comfortable with your photos being shared on my website and social media, then you can decline the model release, or agree to a more discreet "anonymous" crop (not showing your face completely). I respect your choice to keep your images private but know that I LOVE to brag about my beautiful clients by sharing on IG (I never tag names) and/or write a blog post about our amazing time together. 

Q: CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS?

A: Yes, I can break up the total balance into desired amounts monthly before your session date. If you are booking a session that includes hair and makeup, please set aside $150-$175 (tip included) to pay the stylist the full amount the day of the shoot. The remaining balance after the retainer, and if hair and makeup is purchased, can be broken up into payments that work for you. As long as your balance is paid in full before the day of your shoot.

Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?

A: I would love to have at least 3 weeks minimum to be able to book a location but don't be afraid to contact me if it's less or even as far as a year out for your session. I will definitely be able to gather a location and our plans in a crunch if needed or we can take our time and plan out your goals way far in advance. I am very flexible!

Q: WHERE WILL THE SHOOT TAKE PLACE?

A: If you feel that your bedroom is very picturesque, and has a lot of natural light, we can shoot at your home, or I will rent a space in town. Either at a photography studio, hotel, or Airbnb. Or ... if you’re feeling adventurous, we can shoot outdoors in one of my more private locations around Kansas City. 

IF BOOKING A STUDIO:

I will take care of booking a photography studio. Since the retainer fee is due upon booking, that will go towards the rental of the studio to insure the location. The retainer fee will go towards the total amount and the remaining balance is due the day of your session.

IF BOOKING A HOTEL OR AIRBNB:

We can discuss this option as there are two ways to handle. I can book the hotel or AirBnb but I will only have it for the time of the session. If you would like book, then you have the option of paying the hotel or hostess of the AirBnb, which then you can stay at for the night. It is a perfect get-away for yourself, you and your friends, or you and your significant other. If you pay for the hotel/AirBnB I will deduct $100 off of your session, but the $175 retainer fee is still due upon booking and will go towards the total amount which then the remaining balance is due the day of your session.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Q: WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE SHOOT:

A: Be sure to arrive anywhere from 15-20 min before your session. This will give you time to bring in your things, we’ll discuss your first outfit, change and take a moment to breathe. Maybe do a stretch or two. Trust me, the best poses are sometimes the most uncomfortable and you may be sore the next day. Depending on the package you booked, your session will last 1 to 2 hours. It may seem long, but you’ll have a blast and it’ll fly by. I also shoot about 30 min per outfit. It’s ok to bring extra outfits and accessories, but don’t be upset if you didn’t get to wear them all. It’ll just be nice to have options and we may pair up items that you didn’t think of from the beginning. 

Q: Do you photograph couples?

A: I do but have only worked with a few couples. Posing two people at once is still fairly new to me but I am willing to take it on. My packages will still apply to couples and during the consultation we'll discuss boundaries and the type of intimate shoot you'd like with your significant other. I welcome ALL types of couples :)

Q: Do you shoot men?

A: I'm very picky/selective on the shoots that I do with men, and its more for safety and hope that is understood. We can chat about the desired shoot but nude is not allowed. Think more on the lines of a sexy model shoot.

FIGHTING THOSE NERVES:

It’s very common to be nervous before your session. Every girl goes through it but as you’ve seen on my site from the past girls, you could never tell. Make sure to get plenty of sleep, bring some music, and if you feel inclined, you may bring alcohol to help with your jitters (only in moderation, never a good look to be drunk in your photos) But also, just remember, it is my job to make sure you look amazing in front of the camera. I will do everything in my power to make you feel comfortable. You’re going to ROCK IT!!

Hair & Makeup

Q: WHERE SHOULD I GET MY MAKEUP DONE, OR DO YOU OFFER AN ARTIST ON SITE?

A: Two of my packages include custom hair and makeup and if you book one of those, I will have a professional artist on site before your shoot. I want you to show up cleaned faced and ready to be pampered. If you book a shoot without hair and makeup included, feel free (if you are comfortable) to do your own or book an appointment with a salon that offers those services i.e blow out & styling, and makeup. Q: HOW DRAMATIC SHOULD MY MAKEUP BE?

A: My key advice is always to go a level darker than your everyday makeup, but I still want you to feel comfortable. This way my camera picks up the colors on your face. Fake eyelashes (natural or dramatic) add a great lift to your eyes and I tend to focus on eyelashes sometimes when I am doing up close shots. Look at your outfits to determine colors for your eyeshadow and lips to match, maybe watch some YouTube videos for tips and just have fun with it!

SKIN CARE:

As taking care of your outfits is important, taking care of you skin is just as equally important to your session. Please hydrate your skin the day before and the day of your session. This will help with dry spots that would be visible on camera.

TANNING:

Also, if you plan on tanning or getting a spray tan, please do so about 3 days before your session. This allows your skin to settle and you can scrub off the areas that turned orange. Nothing is worse than dealing with burnt or orange skin in post. PLEASE BE AWARE that I do charge an editing fee for fixing such things as orange skin and tan lines from the sun. It is a task on my part, when it is very preventable on your end. I appreciate the understanding.

Q: DO YOU OFFER DIGITAL IMAGES, PRINTS, AND ALBUMS?

A: Absolutely! Every Reveal Boudoir package includes professionally edited digital images, and you'll also have the option to purchase beautiful keepsakes to enjoy for years to come.

Every package includes professionally edited, high-resolution digital images delivered in a private, password-protected online gallery. Once your gallery is ready, you'll receive a secure link and unique download code so you can easily view and download your images on your computer or mobile device. You'll also receive a print release, giving you the freedom to print your images wherever you'd like.

Q: When will I receive my photos?

A: Your gallery will be professionally edited and delivered within 2–3 weeks of your session date. Once it's ready, you'll receive an email with a secure link to your private, password-protected online gallery, along with a unique download code to access your high-resolution digital images.

I know you'll be excited to see your photos, and I work hard to deliver your gallery as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality. If I ever need a little extra editing time, I'll personally reach out to keep you updated so you're never left wondering when your images will arrive.

Q: Do you share my images? What is your privacy policy?

A: Your privacy is one of my highest priorities, and you are always in complete control of your images.

When booking your session, you'll complete a model release that allows you to choose your preferred level of privacy. While I'd absolutely love the opportunity to share your beautiful images to inspire other women and showcase my work, I completely understand if you'd prefer to keep them private.

If you choose not to sign the model release, your images will remain completely confidential. They will never be shared online, used for marketing, or seen by anyone other than you unless you give me written permission.

If you're comfortable allowing me to share your images, I also offer a more private option that lets me use only anonymous or cropped photographs—such as detail shots, silhouettes, or images cropped below the lips—so your identity isn't recognizable.

No matter which option you choose, your professionally edited images will be delivered in a private, password-protected online gallery that only you can access using your unique download code. You can then choose if and with whom you'd like to share your gallery.

Most importantly, I will always respect your decision. Whether you want to proudly show off your stunning images or keep them as a private gift to yourself or someone special, your comfort and trust come first.

Q: Can I share my gallery with my partner?

A: Absolutely! Your password-protected gallery can be shared with anyone you'd like. Many clients enjoy surprising their partner with the gallery or using it to help select favorite images for an album.

Q: How long will my gallery be available?

A: Your gallery will remain online for up to 6 months, so I recommend downloading your images as soon as possible and creating a backup for safekeeping. If you need additional access after your gallery expires, just reach out and I'll be happy to help.
