From “I Do” to Baby #2: Capturing Life’s Sweetest Chapters
There’s something incredibly special about getting to photograph a family through the different seasons of their life. 🤍
I first met this beautiful family when I photographed their wedding. Since then, I’ve had the honor of documenting so many chapters along the way — their first maternity session, family sessions as their little one grew, and now, years later, I’m back behind my camera capturing their second maternity session as they prepare to welcome another sweet baby.
These are the families that remind me why I love what I do.
It’s not just about taking pretty pictures. It’s about getting to watch families grow, celebrating the big milestones and the little in-between moments, and being trusted to preserve those memories along the way. Getting to see familiar faces year after year is truly one of my favorite parts of being a photographer.
And this session was especially beautiful.
A Beautiful Evening at Hidden Acres Farms
For this maternity session, we headed to Hidden Acres Farms in North Independence, Missouri, and it was the perfect backdrop for this season of their lives.
The property is filled with beautiful scenic landscapes, lush greenery, and wildflowers that make you feel like you've stepped away from the city without actually going far. There are so many little pockets of beauty throughout the property, making it such a gorgeous location for family, maternity, and portrait sessions.
We spent the evening wandering through the property, soaking up the scenery and capturing this family together before their newest little addition arrives.
The wildflowers added the sweetest touch to their images — soft, colorful, and perfectly fitting for a maternity session at the end of summer.
And honestly? This is exactly why I love photographing outdoors.
There’s something about letting a family move, interact, explore, and simply be together that creates images that feel genuine and full of life.
